Job Summary:

The Accounting Clerk provides essential support to the Accounting Team by assisting with accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general administrative functions. This role is instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation of the department through accurate project billing, timely data entry, and diligent financial documentation. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently to meet deadlines and departmental goals.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation and processing of monthly accounts receivable billing.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to coordinate billing readiness and track project status.
  • Organize and maintain digital billing files, including pay applications, purchase orders, schedules of values, and signed contracts.
  • Set up new projects by generating job numbers and entering project details into ERP system.
  • Prepare and distribute contract amendments and project proposals via mail or email.
  • Monitor Work-in-Progress (WIP) aging reports.
  • Oversee the collections process to ensure timely payments.
  • Monitor daily banking transactions and identify checks presented for payment.
  • Review monthly credit card statements and corresponding reports.
  • Review and process weekly employee expense reports and electronic fund transfers.
  • Accurately process and code accounts payable transactions.
  • Assist with additional tasks and special projects as assigned

Education:

  • Some college coursework in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is required.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is preferred.
