San Antonio Rehabilitation Hospital

In the rehabilitation hospital, EMA has been helping New Era Companies (NEC – owner) and Z Construction as a Commissioning Authority. The project is currently about 50% construction, and thus far commissioning has provided MEP submittal reviews and performed Site Observations Reports (SORs). More SORs will be performed until construction is about 90% complete. Then commissioning will functionally test the MEP systems to ensure they perform per engineering design and intent. We will provide deficiency issues log with any items that deviate from the design functionality and will follow up to help the issues be corrected.

Our SOLVE team provided New Building Commissioning services for this 50,000-square-foot facility. The rehabilitation hospital consists of a 48-bed nursing unit, as well as administrative and support spaces and a therapy suite. This facility also has a pharmacy, isolation rooms, clean rooms and soiled holding rooms. Our team identified over 110 issues throughout the construction and functional testing process, and correcting these issues greatly improved the quality and safety of the building.
